Case overview
Harper Dean wakes before dawn because the bedroom feels colder than the rest of the home. In the hallway, the air feels normal. In the bedroom, even the floor seems different. Luis points out that they moved a bookcase last weekend and that the weather turned at the same time. Harper thinks both explanations are too convenient. The cold has shown up more than once, and only in one place. They begin to compare the room with nearby spaces, jot down when the discomfort is strongest, and notice what happens when the gusts pick up outside. What looked like a small argument about blankets becomes a question about location, timing, and repetition. The case begins before Harper and Luis know which of the room's ordinary details matters most.
